Learn about the projects that we’re
building in Niagara and supporting around the region.
Gillian’s Place is one of Ontario's first shelters for those experiencing abuse, and local to the heart of Niagara. We support GP on a monthly basis, and at Christmas time we rally around their cause with Christmas Tree Tags. The tags will contain the age of an adult or child being helped by Gillian's Place and a gift card they would like to receive. Grab one off the tree at church this Christmas!
Martha’s Cupboard is a revolving door food pantry, right here in our kitchen. It’s a simple model - take what you need when you need it. If you have more than enough, bring some to church and leave it in the cupboard.
We steward almost 4 acres of land on our corner in Niagara. About half of that is prairie and grassland. We’ve partnered with local beekeepers BY’s Honey Farm to use our property to house eight of their hives. That adds approximately 500,000 bees to our region!
Project Share coordinates 160 garden plots at 3 community sites in Niagara - and we’re currently exploring adding a fourth on our property! The community gardens provide thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the Project Share food bank shelves.
In collaboration with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and the Canadian Wildlife Federation, we’re in the early stages of exploring how to transform a large portion of the vacant grassland on our property into a restorative Monarch Meadow. Monarch Butterflies are close to becoming an endangered species, so planting native pollinators in this area will give these delicate species safe refuge, while also complimenting the environment for our bees!
