Learn about the safe spaces that we cultivate
for your children to encounter God for themselves .
Children aren’t just accommodated in our community, they’re centred. That means that they are welcomed just as they are in every part of our service.
What this means for our church: how we welcome the children in our community is how we welcome God. We celebrate their unadulterated wonder, uninhibited exuberance, and spirit of play in our grown up spaces.
What this means for parents with kids: your kids are welcomed just as they are. We keep child-sized expectations, so their wiggles and wailing is expected. You don’t have to temper their spirits for anyone or anything.
Kids are present in our worship and at the table, in addition to our kids programs that run during a portion of the service. Here’s what that looks like.
The Nursery
Our nursery is a safe space for children up to 4 years old to sleep, play, and do everything in between. This space is open for you to drop your children off at any time during the morning. Regathering happens near the end of the service for communion.
King’s Kids
For kids 4-10, our children’s directors Rachel and Rebecca (and a great group of volunteers) facilitate an age appropriate space to encounter God. Prayer, play, scripture, and story are the means by which we draw our children into deeper exploration of our faith.
Kids are dismissed for class after the worship portion of our service and are regathered for the communion meal near the end of our gather.
All of our volunteers have satisfied a Vulnerable Sector Background Check.
