In our Christian tradition we have a sacred calendar—a way of marking time through the course of the year by telling the story of Jesus Christ. There’s a secular calendar to coordinate our lives within a secular age, and there’s a sacred calendar to form our lives through the gospel story.
We let the rhythms and rest of the Liturgical Church Calendar guide our seasons at Life Abundant, beginning with Advent and weaving a thread throughout the rest of the year.
Someone wise recently said that our society knows how to anticipate an event, but not how to sustain it. Throughout Lent, we experience death and anticipate Easter. Now, we celebrate. Lent is a 40-day fast, while Eastertide is a 50-day feast. Rejoice! Christ is risen.
You can find the scriptures for our Sunday services in the calendar, as well as daily readings for further meditation.
