In our Christian tradition we have a sacred calendar—a way of marking time through the course of the year by telling the story of Jesus Christ. There’s a secular calendar to coordinate our lives within a secular age, and there’s a sacred calendar to form our lives through the gospel story.
We let the rhythms and rest of the Liturgical Church Calendar guide our seasons at Life Abundant, beginning with Advent and weaving a thread throughout the rest of the year.
We mark time throughout the year by re-telling the story of Jesus Christ. The journey with Jesus is a steady descent towards a grave, and Lent is the 40-day season that beckons us along the path as we follow Him. Lent is the path to Easter, to resurrection, but the thing about resurrection is it necessitates a death.
You can find the scriptures for our Sunday services in the calendar, as well as daily readings for further meditation.
