Even without the reality of a global pandemic, each year there are children in our local community that go to school in need. Whether it's a new pair of indoor shoes, an insulated lunch box, or simply a backpack filled with school supplies, we believe that every child deserves to have everything they need to succeed in their education.
In an effort to share what we have to ensure that everyone in our community has enough, this year we're partnering with the Niagara Regional Native Centre to give backpacks to Indigenous children in need.
We're asking you to fill up a backpack (or two!) with school supplies that we'll be donating to the Native Centre.
Here's how that works
- over the next few days, make a trip out with your family to buy a backpack and fill it with school supplies
- on Tuesday September 1st, bring your filled backpacks for a drive-by drop-off at church (from a distance!) between 4-8pm.
- on Wednesday we'll deliver the full backpacks to the Native Centre and they will distribute them to children in need on the 3rd, just in time for the school year to begin
Ideas for shopping
- gender neutral backpacks
